Sentry

This painting is in the private collection of the Ramos family. I was greatly encouraged when they chose this one. Hope you enjoy it.

Soaring

This is a close-up of an oval painting that I did. I was amazed how just a couple of strokes gave the seagull a face. I love art! It is magic!

Good morning! Placed first in a juried show on Saturday with "Valley View" Unfortunately, the whole painting cannot be uploaded, but you can get an idea from this blogspot. The actual work is 18 x 36, oil on canvas. I am so grateful to God for the encouragement!

I had a wonderful surprise this afternoon. A dear friend from Dearborn, Michigan, that I went to school with, found me on Facebook! Now that makes it worthwhile. Her name is Linda Morely Brown and I am happy to report she is still married to George Brown and has been for 44 years. I find that deeply impressive. Lovely woman and still connected to many old friends of ours. This could be a re"start of a beautiful friendship" as Bogey would say.

"Tornado!"

This is my final for the Art House project. The subject is "Danger" and I was inspired to paint what I know. Back in the East and Midwest, these are fairly common occurences and I have lived through a couple of them.

Any constructive criticism is welcome as the prints are not due to the Project until July 20th, 2009. It sure was fun to do!

News

I have just joined the Art House project and entered to participate in the print exchange. One paints the theme which is "Danger" for this project, then makes 22 prints and sends them back. One will go into the Art House gallery and the other will go onto the Atlanta Airport wall. At the end, each of us will receive 20 different prints from some of the other artists who were involved. It is a fun thing and they offer a whole lot of other things to do.

Carolyn's Clouds

In every cloud and color scheme
We see God's artistic flair
A place to play and a place to dream
The clouds speak to us there

Rest upon Me, child of Mine
Let your troubles drift away
Thank you, Father God, Divine
For the time I have today

A moment to reflect and ponder
All the things that You have done
A moment to appreciate in wonder
That all creation in Christ is one
